History came alive for Davidson High School students at Alabama History Day on April 9th, hosted by the Alabama Humanities Alliance at beautiful American Village in Montevallo, AL. Joining students from across Alabama, they enjoyed a day of celebrating history and learning about our nation's founding at this replica village featuring Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, and the Oval Office.

Imagine studying history just for fun and the love of learning! We are proud of these scholars for voluntarily researching and creating a project on a historical topic of their choice. Congratulations to Alex Choi for coming in third place in the academic paper category, and Ke'Miyah Lett and Kaitlyn Kollin for placing second in group website. These two ladies will be advancing to the National History Day at the University of Maryland in June. Well done students!

Aubrie plans to attend the University of South Alabama. She was heavily involved in Yearbook and Black Student Union during her junior and senior years. In Yearbook, she did it all—taking photos, conducting interviews, and hand‑crafting graphics that brought the book to life. As a senior leader in BSU, Aubrie was involved with planning events and organizing meetings.

She will miss Mrs. Henley the most, who has been a constant source of support and encouragement, always believing in Aubrie and being there through big and small moments alike. She also gives a heartfelt thank‑you to Mrs. Faris for being a positive light: "no matter what morning I was having I always felt a little better leaving her classroom than I did coming in!"
