Recently, Dr. Agnew visited former Jr. Bobcats in the 6th grade at Hankins Middle and Grand Bay Middle to bring a word of encouragement before the ACAP starts this week. These students helped Nan Gray Davis Elementary see improved rates of proficiency over the past three years, and they were told to bring that same perseverance and determination to the ACAP at their new school.

For those former Jr. Bobcats scattered around at other MCPSS schools, be on the lookout for a note of encouragement from Dr. Agnew and an "ACAP Survival Kit" being delivered to you.

We know our former Jr. Bobcats are doing great things wherever they might be!

We are proud to recognize Lucero Ramos Antonio as this year's Learning, Leading Award winner at Nan Gray Davis Elementary School! Lucero's journey at our school stands out as one of remarkable perseverance, achievement, and leadership. Lucero enrolled at Nan Gray Davis in Kindergarten during the COVID-19 pandemic knowing no English. Yet, Lucero never allowed any obstacles define her. She continued to make meaningful growth in English proficiency, eventually testing out of the ESL program as a 4th grade student. Lucero is part of our gifted and talented PACE program, demonstrating strong critical thinking skills and intellectual curiousity. But above all, it is Lucero's character that makes her most deserving of this award. Lucero compassionately supports new Spanish-speaking students at our school, helping them to feel welcomed and valued. Lucero truly is a rold model for her peers and a great example of what we want a Jr. Bobcat to be. We are so proud of you, Lucero!
