Attention: Tomorrow, November 6, students in grades 2-5 will be taking the ACAP Practice Test. This assessment will provide our teachers with valuable information related to your child's preparation for the state assessment in the Spring. In addition, it will allow our students to gain familiarity with the state testing platform. Please make every effort to have your child present at school tomorrow.

As you are probably aware, SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits are currently unavailable. We understand how stressful this situation can be for those who rely on this support, and we want to ensure that no child goes without food or care during this time. If your family is affected, please know that help is available:

  • Our school cafeteria will continue to serve breakfast and lunch daily to all students at no charge.

  • Attached is a list of churches and food pantries serving our Theodore community.

  • Families in need can reach out to our school counselor or social worker for additional information.

In addition, families may request a one-time box of non-perishable food if they are experiencing a food crisis in their household. To submit this request, complete the form at the following link: https://forms.office.com/r/kx5kxCBaKg

We encourage any family experiencing hardship to contact us confidentially — we are here to support you. You may reach out to our school counselor Mrs. Kim Jones at kljones@mcpss.com or Dr. Paul Agnew at pjagnew@mcpss.com.

Thank you for your continued partnership as we work together to make sure every child is cared for and supported.

Parenting Day at Nan Gray Davis was a huge success! Thank you to the many parents who came to hear about our school's academic progress over the past several years, along with our school-wide priorities this year. After the parent meeting, we enjoyed a picnic lunch outside. Thank you, parents, for your constant support of our school!

Last week we celebrated National School Lunch Week at Nan Gray Davis, and our cafeteria staff went all out to make it a fun experience for our students. This year's theme was "Food Around the World." On Monday, students were treated to a taste of Asia and even got a chance to practice eating with chopsticks. After a stop in Mexico on Tuesday for some Mexican cuisine, students came home for traditional American fare on Wednesday--burgers and fries. On Thursday, we traveled to Italy for some fettucine alfredo. And we ended the week back home with some fan favorites! As always, our cafeteria staff treated us to some delicious food, and our students had a blast seeing the decorations each day!
